Will AI create more time for us? What do employers think?

If AI based automation takes away time taking activities of workers, then it means more free time for people. This means people will have more time to enjoy their lives rather than be busy with operational work. Lives & work will be more about conversations, art, selling, ideation, etc than about being an operator in a big process. Or, as they say “cog in the wheel”.

If people have more time at hand will it not lead to more commercial activities in space of entertainment, leisure, rest, health and building skills? Does it not mean more growth for economy overall, then? People will have more time to avail more services or create more services. Rather, more creative and connected services.

Question for employers. Why are they going for AI? To replace manual labor with bots? To fire staff? To reduce cost? or to make life easy for their staff and customers? Or, to create more innovative and creative services? Will they continue to pay same salaries to the staff if the staff’s manual labor comes down by say 50%? #
